About Gillian Monaghan:

I’ve had an interesting career trajectory, initially training in the performing arts, before embarking on a career in the music industry and then finally, training to be a teacher. I taught Drama for a number of years before moving into Support for Learning where my specialism was working with neurodivergent young people.
Outside of being a celebrant, I enjoy creative writing, going to gigs and am also a Gàidhlig learner. My overarching passion however is travelling around and photographing Scotland. I know every corner of our beautiful country through my various jaunts and am always more than happy to travel far and wide to conduct ceremonies. In fact, the more off-the-beaten track, the better!
Why pick me?
Someone once commented that I was, “The BBC6 Music of celebrants” on account of the fact that I used to work for a couple of indie record labels, so that should give you a measure of me. A bit alternative, a bit quirky and always up for catering for the unusual and off-the-beaten-track. My ceremonies are relaxed, warm and light-hearted. Although I’m based in Leith, Edinburgh, I am more than happy to travel across Scotland.

I will help you plan a day to remember that best represents you and your own unique story.
